This is my most complex and difficult segmented piece. Construction, beginning with boards, involves multiple exacting steps including; making laminates, cutting and gluing segmented rings and cylinders.. This piece has approx. 1500 pieces of wood in 161 segments. I used three kinds of wood; Bloodwood (Brazil) ,Goncalo Alves (Brazil), and Wenge (Africa). The vessel is finished, ( just as nice inside), with a friction polish of different waxes and shellac hardener. The dimensions are 26” ht..X 11.5”dia.
